An Update from the Leavened Lives Board
We pray that this note finds you and your family well as we continue in the Advent season, a time of celebration and anticipation of Emmanuel—God with us.
As members of the Leavened Lives Board, we wanted to provide you with a few updates on Bo's ministry this past year and share some current developments.
As you might know, over the past few weeks, there have been significant health-related concerns in Bo's family that require a readjustment in his ability to engage the full scope of Leavened Lives' work. As a board, we are joining him and his family in prayer and ask that you please do the same.
Leavened Lives in 2025
In 2025, Leavened Lives continued to prioritize one-on-one engagement with clients, helping them integrate their faith and work by addressing questions like, "Why does God care about my work?" and "How do I experience God through and in my work?"
In addition to this main pillar, Bo also engaged with other organizations to help them think through their own work-related ministries.
Leavened Lives in 2026: Facing Adversity
Given the need to prioritize care within his family during treatment, Bo will have a decreased capacity in 2026 to engage all elements of the Leavened Lives ministry. Initially, this will include a period of largely stepping back. However, after the first few months of 2026, Bo intends to increasingly reengage the work of Leavened Lives.

Kristin's Health
When Kristin was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2021, it was labeled stage 2b. With surgery, the tumor and the lymph nodes were all removed.
She had three years of clear chest scans while on a targeted therapy called Tagrisso. When we stopped Tagrisso in March, the hope was that the cancer had been eradicated.
In October she began to have some unusual symptoms. It turned out there was a tumor in her brain. The trip to the ED on Friday evening became brain surgery Monday morning, November 3.
Kristin is recovering well from the brain surgery, but because her lung cancer metastasized to her brain, her cancer is now stage 4. This means that she will undergo radiation treatment, a chemotherapy regime for several months, and go back on Tagrisso indefinitely.
I will be taking Paid Family Leave from December 1 thru February 20. I will not be getting any pay from Leavened Lives, but I will continue to meet with clients when I am able because that is life giving for me.
